Becoming PEP fluent — not memorising more facts.
PEP is fixed and external: every Grade 6 student in Jamaica sits it. What isn't fixed is how prepared a child is, and how much anyone around them can actually see.
Most families prepare with scattered past papers and no clear picture. PEPfluent replaces that with one path — practise, diagnose, revisit, master — that a student, a parent, a teacher, and a principal can all read from the same place.
Three layers of fluency
The name is the strategy: fluent means recognising a concept, applying it, and answering with confidence — the way a fluent speaker doesn't translate in their head first.
Knowledge fluency
The student knows the concept — not one memorised answer to one version of a question.
Application fluency
They can apply it inside an unfamiliar, PEP-styled question — not only a textbook one.
Confidence fluency
They can do both under time pressure, without panic, because the format is familiar.
What we hold ourselves to
- No child is ever ranked against another, publicly or privately.
- We never promise an exam outcome. We show what's been mastered and what hasn't.
- We publish no performance statistic we haven't measured in real schools.
- A wrong answer is never a label. It comes back later as ordinary practice.
- A child's name and progress are shared with a sponsor only where a guardian has said yes.
Where we are
- 2027
- Jamaica's next PEP sitting begins in March. Everything we build is measured against that date.
- 5
- Subjects, matching the PEP exactly: Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Ability/Reasoning.
- 3
- Grade levels covered: Grades 4, 5, and 6, so families can start early and keep going.
Who's behind it
A small Jamaican team working with principals, Grade 4 to 6 teachers, and parents in real schools. Our aim is that children leaving primary school carry real knowledge, real application, and real confidence — true fluency, not a memorised past paper.
Clarity for every step to PEP.
